Special Edition: Extra!

Grace Episcopal Church
Sheboygan, Wisconsin

Grace Notes
11 September 2013
Special Edition

The regular weekly edition of Grace Notes will publish tomorrow, 12 September, as scheduled.  This is a special edition to call your attention to a major advance in how opportunities for ministry are communicated and cultivated.
The parish website at www.gracesheboygan.com now features extensive new content on ministries and how these relate to spiritual gifts that you have.  On the pull down menus for Worship and for Outreach you will find an inventory and description of ministry opportunities, cross-referenced and classified according to the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are manifested in these ministries.  You can now get information, quickly and in-depth, that explains what we are doing, and how the gifts that you have relate to these ministries.
1.      The spiritual gifts inventory and classifications build on work done by Dcn. Michele Whitford and Mary Clabots.
2.      The gathering and classification of information was performed by Jack Westfall, with input from Dcn. Michele, and from Juergen Pietzner and Elizabeth Schaffenburg.  The classification also builds on work performed in 2012 by the Parish Life Guild, led by Bobbi Kraft.
3.      The construction of all of this into a web page application was undertaken by Jon Whitford.
What should you do?
1.      Thank the people who have made this resource available!
2.      Pray about how you are called to serve, and how you may discern the gifts you have to offer.
3.      Look at the information closely, to consider how in the Faith Alive process (the schedule is below) will allow you to come together with all of the parish to discern a call to ministry, and to identify what ministries need to be added to our inventory.

§  Faith Alive is coming to Grace!  September 20-22, 2013
I prayed that the Lord would use the Weekend to begin a time of spiritual renewal in the parish. The result was far beyond what I had hoped. Nearly every person who attended the Weekend recommitted his or her life to Christ at the Sunday worship. Most have spoken of experiencing a needed spiritual renewal in their lives. I believe that this Weekend marks a turning point in the spiritual growth of this congregation.

§  "Conversations in the Kitchen" Have you ever heard the phrase, "Please don't make a decision about me, without me." Well, no worries about that...we WANT your input! After the 10:15 Mass on September 15th, we invite you to grab a cup of coffee and settle in for "Conversations in the Kitchen"; A brief, yet lively informational sharing about all things Grace's kitchen. Together, we'll brainstorm how to keep our kitchen user-friendly for all, learn how things work/where things go and share in an entertaining demonstration of cross-contamination and proper handwashing.  (Hint: Get ready to sing your ABC's) Everyone is welcome-your expertise, ideas, requests, concerns and inquiries are valued!

§  A Day of Healing: On September 14, 2013, A Day of Healing is a spiritual and instructional journey that consists of teaching and worship for people of all denominations, especially for those who seek to carry on the healing ministry of Jesus in their local communities. The sessions are led by Rev.
